Alright Shrewsbury music lovers, gather 'round and prepare for a night of lyrical genius and questionable dance moves! Albert's Shed is proud to present the "Albert's Songwriters Showcase," a free entry extravaganza of original music kicking off at 8.30pm on Wednesday 23rd of July.
Tonight, we've got three solo acts guaranteed to tickle your eardrums and maybe even your funny bone.
First up, Get ready to welcome the incredible Pete Hubbard to our stage! This Shropshire legend blends alt-country and folk rock with a gritty, rock-infused edge – imagine Johnny Cash jamming with a punk band! With rich vocals, meaningful lyrics, and a BBC Introducing feature under his belt for "Whiskey & Wine," Pete is bringing a fresh, homegrown UK take on country straight to you. You seriously don't want to miss his unique sound live. It's gonna be a night to remember!
Then, prepare to be amazed by the brilliant Alan Jenkins, a man whose songs offer a delightfully skewed perspective on life. He's been making waves on BBC Introducing and the Narrowboat Sessions and is no stranger to Albert’s stage, so you know he's legit.
And finally, we have Thom Morecroft, the Shropshire-born, Liverpool-seasoned singer-songwriter who's been described as "cheering and addictive" by the legendary Paul Du Noyer himself! Tom Robinson of BBC6Music promises his music will leave you "reaching for the replay button." We suggest you stretch those fingers now, folks!
So, come on down to Albert's Shed, grab a pint, and prepare for a night of original tunes and good times. It's free, it's fun, and it's guaranteed to be more entertaining than watching paint dry (unless you're really into that sort of thing). See you there!
